J.O.A.C.H.I.M. Davalos
Davalos was an interesting character that I based on some concept art that I found on Pinterest. He originally was a fearsome pirate in his heyday, but turned into a part-man-part machine pirate that was part of the guard at El Furte De La Tempestad or The Fury Of The Storm fortress in New Cumana.
During his tenure as captain, his legendary exploits included the Aetherial Skirmish of Isla Tempestad in 2317, where he defeated a group of Royal Marines aboard the HMS Thunderstrike to steal their cargo. The battle of Steamhaven Isle in 2330 where he captured the island’s vast coal riches for the empire to keep fueling their ships and the infamous battle of the Devil’s Arch in 2331 where the Sky Admiral Vanessa "Steelwing" Orlock was trying to capture the island, a key strategic location so that she could dominate the skies of the Caribbean.
He wanted to participate in Ascension Day to get a new command, but was thwarted by the cowardly base commander who insisted that he remain in the fortress to keep the commander and his officers safe during the fighting. Frustrated, he obeyed orders, but he had an outstanding challenge for a one-on-one battle. If Davalos beats his opponent, he kills him and takes his worldly possessions, as any pirate would. If the opponent wins, Davalos would be his loyal servant forever. None won the victory until Clara Asheton beat him with a sneaky plan.
Now, he’s her servant and protector, spending much of the time at her side, enjoying the adventures when he’s not bored from standing around on guard duty.
